Late Night Confession
I used to wear the same 4 or 5 shirts every week or every time I go out with friends. It got embarrassing at times but I got used to it. And my friends never question my lack of clothes.
The real reason because of it was that I couldn’t afford new clothes and clothes tend to be pretty expensive. Not to mention that I don’t have the body nor the confident thus me rarely wearing any girlie clothes.
A few weeks ago, I came across a guy on YouTube who goes by the name professorsnapp. He does customization videos on snapback hats and he shops at local thrift stores. His videos inspired me to start going to thrift stores for clothes.
When I was a kid, my mom would buy clothes for me at the thrift store. As I grew up, I end up hating the thrift store because it made me feel poor and not cool like other kids who wore nice, brand new clothes.
Professorsnapp made a rant video about why he shops at thrift stores. He said it DOES NOT make you poor just because the clothes are cheap. It makes you smart.
I started visiting thrift stores, keeping what he said in mind to help me get started because of my bad history with thrifts. As soon as I started getting the hang of it and finding clothes I like, I started to like going to the thrift.
So far, my closet is filling up with clothes that I actually plan to wear and I no longer have to worry about trying to remember what shirt I wore with a specific friend last or hoping they don’t remember.
Watching L.A. Ink on Youtube
Gave me a cool idea for a tattoo.
